Help Save Medellin’s Greatest Youth Center
Donation protected
Hello, everyone!
I recently visited Medellín, Colombia, and was deeply inspired by an incredible youth center in Comuna 13 run by Señora Martinez. She has dedicated her life to transforming the lives of local children. The center, now home to the “Sembrando Paz y Esperanza Foundation,” was built on what was once a waste deposit site. After nearly nine years of hard work—mostly by hand—the area was cleaned and turned into a safe haven for nearly 400 children.
This center also serves as an orphanage for a few kids, including a 6-year-old boy with severe muscular dystrophy. He was abandoned at birth, and Señora Martinez, with her immense compassion, adopted him along with two other children.
The youth center plays a critical role in keeping the children of Comuna 13 away from crime and drugs by offering hope, education, and opportunities. It’s also home to a soccer team, part of the center’s vision to inspire kids to pursue professional sports careers.
However, the center urgently needs support. Recent heavy rains have damaged the kitchen and eatery building, which is now at risk of collapsing. Additional immediate needs include:
• Beds for the children, as many currently share mattresses.
• Windows for the damaged building.
• Railings to prevent falls from an 8-foot drop at the front of the property.
• Cement repairs and other essential renovations.
The beauty of this community lies in its unity—local members with construction experience will volunteer their labor. Every dollar raised will go directly toward materials and repairs.
I humbly ask for your support. Whether big or small, your contribution will make a significant difference. Let’s help this amazing center continue to save lives and offer hope to countless children.
If you are traveling to Colombia and would like to personally visit the center you may as well! Just contact me and I will make sure you get there!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you can give. Together, we can make a real impact. God bless you all!
