Help Save Mauthe's Progress Milk Barn
Donation protected
Dear friends,
We are a third and fourth-generation family farm located in McComb, MS, and we take pride in providing a variety of dairy products to farmers' markets, individuals, and businesses in the southeast region. Our milk is pasteurized but non-homogenized, which results in a healthier quality product that has been enjoyed for decades in various treats and restaurants. We put a lot of love and effort into every aspect of our daily operations, and we're proud to have pioneered farm processing for 22 years, with many others following our lead successfully.
Unfortunately, we're currently facing a significant challenge with government regulations that have forced us to suspend all production until the process is resolved. The process is lengthy and laborious, and we're looking at a three-month suspension of operations while we navigate the FDA and Mississippi government regulations.
Our customers are like family to us, and we're heartbroken that we can't serve them at the moment. It has also taken food out of the mouths of our families and our cows, who are the happiest cows in America! We spend an average of $2500 per week to feed our cows, and without revenue due to the recent permit changes, we're facing financial hardship. We're reaching out to the community to request support during this challenging time.
We appreciate the outpouring of love and support we've received, and we're humbly asking for a small donation from those who know the importance of the small farm community. While we believe that we have the legal support we need, time is of the essence, and we're praying that it's on our side. Our businesses are waiting for our return, and with your help, we can come back stronger and happier than ever.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your kindness and support. We also welcome all calls to the MS senate and representatives on our behalf in the hopes of expediting the process.
Together, as a community, we can get through this challenging time.
With unending gratitude,
-Kenny, Jamie, Sarah Luke, and Lydia Mauthe, Kaitie Mauthe Pieri, Connie, Sandy, and Iris.
