My name is Heather Taylor (Scudder), and my sister Rudi Taylor is a passionate beekeeper working to keep her buzzing pollinators thriving – but we need your help.

Over the last four years, Rudi has dedicated herself to raising and caring for bees, not just as a hobbyist and small-scale entrepreneur, but as a vital mission to support our ecosystem.

Honey bees are responsible for pollinating much of the food we eat, yet they’re under constant threat from pesticides, disease, habitat loss, and other environmental factors.

The 2025 beekeeping season has had some unexpected setbacks – including colony losses, increased feed and treatment costs, along with higher supplies and equipment costs – which have put a financial strain on her small-scale operation.

Not only is beekeeping expensive, but it’s also very heavy work. I’m reaching out to this amazing community to help Rudi purchase essential tools that will help with the efficiency of her operation, in addition to the reduction of stress to the bees:

• An Electric Hive Lifter (hive boxes weigh 60-100 lbs each)

• A Hive Cracker

• An Automatic Honey Bottle Filling Machine
