My daughters and I are facing one of the hardest moments of our lives. Our sweet, joyful pup Charlotte—affectionately known as Char-latte—has suddenly become critically ill with a severe liver condition. The doctors estimate her treatment will cost $10,000, and we need help to save her life.

Charlotte isn’t just a dog—she’s a source of endless love and joy. She will sit in a highchair for hours while my girls dress her up, wagging her tail the whole time. She brings laughter and happiness to everyone she meets, shaking her whole body with excitement. My girls adore her, and she has been a constant source of comfort and stability through some of the toughest years of our lives.

The past few years have been incredibly challenging. While navigating a high-conflict divorce, I earned my MFA from an extremely demanding design school. I am being crushed by $60,000 in student loan debt that I can’t currently pay, living paycheck to paycheck just to keep our family afloat as a single mom. Despite everything, I stayed determined—passing out my resume door to door and doing everything I could to rebuild our lives. Yet no matter how hard life pushes us, we come home to this happy-go-lucky puppy who reminds us that joy, love, and hope are always possible.
