Help Save Buck Creek Neighbors from Flooding!!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help donate what you can to fight the good fight. Your neighbors & local wildlife will thank you!!!!

Sue Hotseller, Bloomfield Lakes Estates neighborhood treasurer, is helping to raise funds to battle the zoning approval for a warehouse even bigger than Five Below, right next to it!!! They're building too much too fast without proper surveying. If it was done right, they would see that there is just too much water in these lands.

When Five Below was built, there was a tremendous amount of water dumping from Shelby County into Marion County. THEY told us they had a plan to divert the water in minute amounts that would never effect Buck Creek flooding - THEY lied.  If this zoning is approved, the next warehouse will be much bigger & cause much more flooding damage to our neighbors nearest Buck Creek. Think year-round standing water in yards:(

The traffic study they did was a joke. There is absolutely increased traffic flow from Five Below, including semi trailers coming through Acton from Five Below - And it's not even up & running yet due to the fatal accident that occurred in February of 2022.

The proposed mega warehouse will include:
Standard parking spots- 783!!!  Truck docks- 240 @ 3 per bay!!!  Truck Trailer parking spots- 370!!!
That's going to be an even bigger increase of traffic flow to an area with already rough roads.

If this is approved & built,  that’s two mega warehouses practically built on top of each other with a Shelby County volunteer firehouse to fight them. The risk of fire spreading to our neighbors is too great - terrifying thought :(

The documentation regarding the flood zones is from the 1940s that they’re (USGS) using!!!!!! DATA FROM THE 1940s!!!!! With how much has changed & the size of this warehouse, some of our neighbors are at risk of losing their homes. Not to mention the drop in property values when prospective buyers see everyone’s yards under water!

We need to fund our own samples, and ensure we have adequate legal coverage to give our community & neighbors the best shot at fighting this.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help donate what you can to fight the good fight. Your neighbors & local wildlife will thank you!!!!
