Help Save a Mother and Children From Homelessness

Donation protected
I first met Kevyn a few years ago when we stepped up to volunteer as leaders of a Girl Scout troop for our daughters. As we’ve grown to be friends these last few years I’ve come to know her as humble, courageous, and one of the most generous people I’ve ever met. She has gone through more than any woman and mother should have to endure in this life, but this last year has brought her to a seemingly rock bottom.

In addition to some major medical hurdles her family has faced, after 7 years of sobriety, her husband (and financial provider for their family), turned back to alcohol, and is no longer in the picture. Kevyn is now a single mom raising 5 kids (ages 8 years-10 months old). The trailer she owns has been slowly falling apart, broken windows, holes in the subfloor, damaged skirting, and this winter the furnace could no longer keep up, leaving them with inadequate heat. The situation turned emergent just last week when her pipes burst in multiple places, leaving them without water. She has been told the city will be condemning her trailer soon unless she is able to fix the trailer and get it back to live able conditions.

She has been diligently trying to find a solution- she’s been in contact with county workers and social workers, the Salvation Army, even homeless shelters. Every rabbit trail she has gone down has left her empty handed. This is an exhausted, scared mother, and 5 young children, who are truly on the verge of homelessness.

The opportunity to help, presented itself through a good friend and incredible human. We have a contractor lined up who will gut her entire trailer, rebuild her one that is safe and reliable, and will do it at cost. The projected amount for the project is $35-40k. This is the opportunity to literally save a mom & 5 kids from homelessness, and to provide them with a safe, stable place to call home. Thank you so much for any donation you’re able to make and any share you’re able to provide!! To the world you may be one person, but to this one mother you truly may be the world ❤️
