My name is Lee Faz. I’m 43, divorced, and this appeal is literally a matter of life or death for me.
I have terminal liver cancer and am awaiting a transplant. I’m currently at the top of the list, and the surgery has been approved through the Affordable Care Act. But here’s the problem: The board of physicians (there are 20 people involved in my care), say I must have sufficient funds to sustain myself during the lengthy post-op recovery. Without those funds, the next donor liver will go to someone else. They require proof that I have $8,000 to proceed.
I believe in full disclosure, and the truth is I used to be addicted to alcohol. I have been sober for five years and am in AA, helping others. I was on medications that further damaged my liver, and that’s how I wound up in this situation.
I know I am a stranger to you. But I am asking, from the bottom of my heart, for you to show some compassion for my situation. Other than my two small dogs, I have no one. I am currently in a very weakened state and very much want to live.
I have, at most, a few months left. So it’s critical I reach my goal. Any donations would be a blessing, and if you would consider sharing this with other people in AA who would understand, I would greatly appreciate it. No donation is too small. Even sharing this on social media will help.
If you cannot afford to donate, I understand. Please keep me in your prayers. If I do not attain my goal, the funds will go for my funeral expenses.
God Bless You for reading this, and thank you in advance
