I have heard that this time of the year people will sometimes look for a family to bless, so I am starting this GoFundMe basically hoping for a miracle. I know the number is huge, but I have always told my children... if you're truly going to make a wish, make it count because you never know which wish will come true. So I am making my wish.

My nephew, who I helped raise with my mom so I will always see him as my son, is a hardworking single father of 2, a 5 and 10 year old, and is very much at risk of losing their home. With the rising cost of everything in life and increases in all interest rates, he has apparently been pulling from one bill to pay another while trying to figure a way out for some time. He has had a tremendously challenging year starting with kitchen appliances breaking, then heating and air system failure during our brutal summer, leading to excessively high electric bills from window units. He didn't, and still doesn't, want to be a burden to anyone as everyone is struggling right now, so he didn't share this problem. Unfortunately, once the spiral begins, it's almost impossible to stop. He is now behind on most bills, paying only what he can each month because they continue to build on him before he can catch back up. He is also behind on his mortgage due to increases in interest rates.

It's a big ask to reach out to friends and strangers to help him get back to a place he can manage, but I'm asking. And I don't actually imagine this will make the goal, but that is my wish. For him to be able to pay it all off and get to go back to being a dad and putting his focus on his kids and future. Most everyone I know has hundreds of social media friends, and those friends have hundreds, and so on. Even if everyone could donate $5 and share to their friends who could do the same, and they could do the same, it would help immensely. I would just love to be able to give him peace of mind that he won't lose his home. He's a hardworking blue-collar worker, and I can promise all proceeds will go to the back and current mortgage and bill payments.
