Dear friends, neighbors, and kind-hearted supporters,

We never imagined we would be in this place—pleading for help to save our home. Our family has always believed in faith, hope, and service. When we opened our hearts and tried to provide a sober home for people in recovery, we did so with love and the belief that God was guiding us to help those who needed stability, compassion, and a second chance at life.

We even received a license from the NJ Department of Community Affairs to operate in one of the two homes on our property, believing we were doing everything the right way. But instead of being met with support, we’ve faced hostility—both from the municipality and from some immediate neighbors. What was born out of love and service quickly turned into a crushing battle we never anticipated.

The municipality has imposed devastating fines of $600,000 now reduced to $215,000 against us for zoning violations. Despite our pleas, prayers, and appeals, they have refused to reconsider. We fear losing our home. We fear bankruptcy—and even that might not save us.

We know that people in recovery are among the most vulnerable in our communities. Too often, they face judgment and misunderstanding instead of compassion. Yet research and experience tell us that support and stability are essential for healing and maintaining sobriety. We wanted to be part of that lifeline. In a state that openly calls itself to be in the midst of an opioid epidemic, we expected encouragement, but instead, because we were just a family—without the backing of large organizations, grants, or angel investors—we were left to stand alone.

We used what little we had to help others, but now, that effort threatens to cost us everything.

We are a God-fearing family. We have prayed and prayed for answers, for relief, for mercy. Now we humbly ask you—if you feel moved in your heart—to stand with us. Any donation, large or small, will go directly toward saving our home from these devastating fines and helping us find a path forward.
