Hi, my name is Jenna and I live on a rural property in Rosemount on the Sunshine Coast.
Since August last year, I’ve been running a small Hipcamp camping experience on the back portion of my land — a peaceful, creekside space surrounded by open paddocks and nature. Sharing this space has helped people slow down, reconnect, and enjoy a simple, quiet stay, and it has also helped me care for the property and animals.
Since opening, the campsite has taken off far more than I ever expected. The feedback and reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with many campers — especially families — discovering this place and absolutely loving it.
One of the things people love most about this campsite is the free-roaming animals. Horses and goats wander the property, along with ducks and two friendly dogs, and they often come right up to visit campers at their campsites. This creates a truly unique experience, and I’ve received some of the most amazing feedback and reviews specifically about how special it is for campers — especially children — to safely interact with and observe the animals in such a natural setting.
People also enjoy the safe swimming and fishing creek, the open space, and the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. I’ve always tried to keep this camping experience fairly priced, low-impact, and respectful of both the land and the people who visit.
Recently, I’ve been required to go through council’s approval process in order to continue offering camping here. While I understand the need for this, the costs involved are significant and need to be covered upfront.
I’m raising funds to help cover council application and assessment fees, professional planning support, required reports, and the changes needed on the property as part of this process.
This is a small, owner-run setup — not a large commercial campground — and managing these costs alone is challenging. Community support would allow me to move forward properly and keep offering a safe, respectful and much-loved camping experience with animal interactions.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward this process and will be genuinely appreciated. Even sharing this page helps more than you know.
info on Horseshoe Hideaway can be found on the Hipcamp site.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for supporting small, local places like this.
