Help Save a 6-Month-Old Kitten With a Shattered Pelvis & Hernia

Only days ago, this little boy was running around normally, waiting for his food.

Today, at barely 6 months old, he is facing two major operations and we urgently need help to make them possible.

Our rescuer, Soua'd, knows him from her regular street-feeding rounds in Dubai. She had seen him perfectly well only days before. Then suddenly she found him unable to move normally and clearly in terrible pain.

We still do not know exactly what happened, but the vets believe he suffered severe trauma, most likely from being hit.

The X-rays were devastating.

His pelvis is badly fractured and displaced inward, and the damage is far more complicated than a broken bone alone.

His injuries have affected his intestinal area!

As the vets investigated further, they discovered that the pelvic trauma had caused serious complications around his intestines, including a hernia.

He became unable to pass stool normally.

There were concerns about the surrounding tissues and nerves, whether he would ever be able to toilet normally again, and what kind of life he could have even if surgery was technically possible.

He was also passing blood-tinged urine, was in significant pain, and was dealing with a severe chest infection and infected gums.

At one stage, one veterinary assessment gave us an extremely poor prognosis.

Looking at him, you would never imagine it.

He is alert. He looks at you. He still looks like a little kitten.

But inside, his tiny body has been through catastrophic trauma.

Today, they finally managed to give him some relief!

Because he had been unable to pass stool properly for several days, the veterinary team manually removed some of the impacted stool.

Thankfully, it worked and gave him some much-needed temporary relief.

But it does not solve what is happening inside him.

He still urgently needs surgery.

We finally found a vet willing to take on his case

Initially, we were told surgery could cost around 8,000 AED.

After a specialist reviewed the severity of his injuries, we were then quoted around 13,000 AED for the pelvic surgery alone, before the additional intestinal complications and recovery costs.

We genuinely did not know how we could ever afford it.

Then another well-known rescuer stepped in and helped Soua’d access an extraordinary rescue rate with a veterinary team willing to take on this extremely difficult case.

We have now been given an estimate of approximately:

6,055 AED (1236 GBP)

This is for a major case involving two surgical procedures - repair of the hernia/internal complication and surgery for his severe pelvic injury - together with blood tests and up to 14 days of hospitalisation, monitoring and recovery.

It is an incredible reduction compared with what we were facing before.

We may never be offered an opportunity like this again.

But there is one condition.

The full amount has to be paid upfront!

Because this is a heavily discounted rescue arrangement for major surgery, the veterinary clinic needs the payment before they can proceed.

Medically, his surgery needs to happen as soon as possible!!!

Financially, We Are Stuck!!!

We simply do not have 6,055 AED (1236 GBP) available.

We cannot admit him for these procedures and promise to pay afterwards.

We first have to raise the money.

And every additional day means this little boy continues living with a shattered pelvis and serious intestinal complications.

We Have Nothing Left To Pull From!!!

Soua’d has no work or bookings this month, while still having to feed and care for the many cats already depending on her.

We still have outstanding veterinary bills.

Two more injured cats have recently needed veterinary care.

Romeo is also waiting for surgery!!!

There is no emergency reserve sitting somewhere that we can use.

We have reached the heartbreaking point where a vet is willing to help, an incredible rescue discount has been secured, and there is a possible path forward for this baby…

but we cannot take it unless we raise the money.

PLEASE HELP US GIVE HIM THIS CHANCE

We know his case is complicated.

We know two major surgeries carry risks.

Nobody can promise us a perfect outcome.

But after seeking further veterinary opinions, we have finally found a team prepared to try to help him at a cost that makes treatment remotely possible.

We do not want lack of money to be the reason we cannot even give him that opportunity.

He is only six months old.

A few days ago, he was simply waiting for his dinner.

Now he is fighting for the chance to walk comfortably, toilet normally and have a future.

We urgently need to raise 6,055 AED (1236 GBP) so his treatment can go ahead as soon as possible.

Whether you can give £5, £10, £20 or simply share his fundraiser, every bit of help brings him closer to that operating table.

We stepped in because leaving him injured and suffering on the street was never an option.

Now we desperately need people to stand behind him with us.

Please help us give this little boy his chance.

PLEASE follow his journey and the rest of our rescue work.

We will continue sharing updates about his treatment, surgery and recovery, as well as the many other cats currently depending on us.
