Help Save 15 Elderly & Disabled Residents from Homelessness

Donation protected
My name is Oneal with Another Chance Foundation, a senior living facilities company and housing provider services. I am reaching out in one of the most critical moments of my life not just for me, but for the 15 vulnerable individuals who depend on me every single day for care, safety, and dignity.

I own and operate three small nursing homes under my organization, Another Chance Foundation. These homes are not just businesses they are safe havens for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and members of the mental health community who need consistent, compassionate care. Today, all of that is at risk.

We are facing an urgent eviction crisis. Without immediate financial support, my residents many of whom cannot care for themselves could lose their homes.

Our Mission Since 2018
Another Chance Foundation has proudly served the community since 2018. For nearly a decade, we have been committed to providing shelter, care, and support services to those who need it most. Our residents range from independent seniors to fully bedridden patients who rely on daily assistance.

We provide essential services such as:
  • Meal preparation and nutrition support
  • Medication reminders and supervision
  • Transportation to doctor appointments
  • Daily hygiene and personal care
  • Companionship and emotional support
Beyond physical care, we have built a community rooted in dignity, compassion, and second chances, hence our name.

How the Crisis Began
Like many small healthcare providers, our organization was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic starting in 2020. The impact was devastating and long lasting.

We lost multiple staff members, including certified nursing assistants (CNAs), nurses, and support staff. At our peak, we had a team of six dedicated employees, but due to financial strain, we were unable to sustain payroll. One by one, we lost every member of our team.

At the same time, we lost dozens of residents. Many were forced to leave due to reduced staffing, health concerns, or financial instability. These residents, who once contributed $2,000 to $3,000 monthly, had to return to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, family members, or even homeless shelters.

This created a cycle that became increasingly difficult to recover from: fewer residents meant less income, and less income meant fewer resources to rebuild staffing and operations.

Personal Hardships Along the Way
As if the business challenges were not enough, my family experienced a devastating personal loss in 2025. My father-in-law passed away in a fatal semi-truck accident. This tragedy deeply affected our family and required me to step away from the business intermittently during an already fragile time.

Balancing grief, family responsibilities, and a struggling business became overwhelming. Despite everything, I remained committed to keeping our doors open for the residents who depend on us.

The Current Emergency
Today, the situation has reached a breaking point.

The eviction timeline for our three facilities has already expired. I have been working closely with the landlord, who has been understanding and patient, but time has run out. April 2026 was the final deadline to resolve the overdue rent.

Even if I can secure the funds in May, there is still a chance to save the properties and prevent displacement.

Right now, 15 to 20 residents are depending on me. If I cannot find a solution immediately, at least five more residents may be forced to leave, further destabilizing the entire operation.
Without residents, there is no income. Without income, there is no facility. And without the facility, these individuals lose their home.

Why This Matters So Much
For many of our residents, going back is not an option.

Returning to a hospital, a shelter, or even family members who may not be equipped to provide proper care can be devastating. Elderly individuals and those with disabilities require structured, professional support. Without it, their health and quality of life decline rapidly.

Our homes provide stability, safety, and a sense of belonging. Losing that would be life altering for them.

How the Funds Will Be Used
We are seeking to raise $100,000 to stabilize and rebuild. These funds will go toward:
  • Paying past due rent to stop eviction and secure the facilities
  • Covering staff salaries so we can rebuild a reliable care team
  • Maintaining utilities to keep the homes operational
  • Purchasing essential medical supplies and equipment
  • Completing certifications and licensing with Medicaid and insurance providers
These certifications are especially important because they will allow us to become financially sustainable moving forward. With proper credentialing, we can access funding streams that will support long term growth and stability.

Building Toward a Sustainable Future
In addition to the nursing homes, I am also developing Harmony Home Care Agency, a home health service designed to work alongside Another Chance Foundation.

This agency is currently undergoing licensing and credentialing. With your support, we can fully launch these services and expand care options for our residents and the broader community.

Together, these two organizations will create a stronger, more resilient system, one that ensures we never face a crisis like this again.

A Final Plea for Help
This is more than a financial request it is a plea to protect human lives.

Your donation will directly help keep a roof over the heads of people who cannot advocate for themselves. It will ensure they continue receiving the care, compassion, and dignity they deserve.

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to stability. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others can make a powerful difference.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can provide. Together, we can give these individuals not just shelter but another chance.
