Hi, I'm Sarai, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart as I begin navigating life after the passing of my husband, Heath Melton (10/12/25). We were married in 2010 and have 4 beautiful children together. He was not only a loving partner and father, but a man who lived with a depth, creativity, and tenderness rarely found in a strong man. He filled our home with laughter, encouragement, strength, and love that reached every corner of our lives.
He leaves behind me and our four children, ages 15, 13, 10, and 7. In the midst of our grief, we’ve also faced another unexpected heart breaking challenge: our oldest son was recently diagnosed (2/20/26) with Type 1 diabetes.
As we adjust to life without Heath, I am also learning how to navigate the complexities of managing a chronic medical condition for our son — emotionally, physically, and financially. The cost of insulin, supplies, continuous glucose monitoring systems, doctor visits, and emergency care adds up quickly, and it is an additional burden during an already overwhelming season.
I have faith that God will provide as we try to find our footing in this new reality.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe to help ensure I can cover living expenses, ongoing medical bills, and give my children stability despite losing their father. Your support will go directly toward keeping our home secure, meeting our son’s medical needs, and allowing me to continue providing for all four of my boys as I rebuild our lives.
If you feel led to give, please know your contribution makes a real and tangible difference for our family. And if you’re unable to give, your prayers, kind words, and shares mean just as much. We feel every bit of love and support that surrounds us.
Thank you for being part of our journey toward stability and renewal during this devastating loss.
With gratitude,
Sarai and the Melton Boys
