My dear friend Sarah is one of the strongest and most heart-centered women I know. Over the last few years, she’s experienced more than her share of challenges—losing her father unexpectedly, navigating life as a single mom, moving through the end of a marriage, and facing an unexpected job loss that left her unemployed for four months. While she’s back to work full-time now, like many of us, she’s still catching up financially—and that's where this story begins.

Currently, Sarah’s son lives in Guam with his father, who is on active duty in the military. After deep prayer and thoughtful reflection, Sarah made the incredibly selfless decision to agree to a shared custody arrangement during the four-year tour overseas. It wasn’t easy—but she knew it was an opportunity for her son to connect with his culture, experience the world, and spend meaningful time with both parents.

She hopes to welcome him back to Texas for several weeks of family connection, laughter, and memories—with his mom, sisters, grandmother & all who love him dearly. They’re planning everything from movie nights and outdoor adventures to slow mornings filled with hugs, pancakes, and board games.
