Shawn and Sarah Oaks - Sarah’s Cancer Fight

I am Shawn’s sister, Colette Zienka. I and our parents, Jim and Sandy Oaks, are trying to raise funds to help with Sarah’s Cancer expenses.

Shawn Oaks and his wife, Sarah, have been together since 1997 and married since 2001. They have one grown child Griffin (age 24). Sarah is such a sweet lady and is only 48 years old. She had been having lots of pain and had gone to see doctors over the past few years. In October 2024, Sarah was diagnosed with a rare fast growing cancer that is usually found in the lungs. However, the cancer is in her colon. She now is in the fight of her life! Sarah started an aggressive chemotherapy and radiation in November 2024. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy, again.

Shawn works full time and has medical insurance. The expenses have been overwhelming. They had to stay in a hotel near the treatment center for six weeks. He commutes 1 1/2 hours one way to work each day. He has missed a lot of work as he stays with Sarah 3 days at a time while she receives chemo. Other times he travels over 400 miles in one day trying to get her to appointments, go to work, then back home. They have been doing this for several months trying to save her life. The funds will go directly to Shawn and Sarah to be used for medical expenses, fuel, food, hotel stays, medications and other expenses that Sarah needs. Any monetary donation would help and is greatly appreciated by Shawn, Sarah and the family. And more importantly, any prayers that could be sent up for Sarah, Shawn and their son, Griffin, are requested and appreciated!
