My sweet friend Sara is an amazing teacher, and dog mom  in the Houston area whose home suffered extensive damage in the TX winter storm last week. Sara and her pups survived over 44 hours without heat and water, with temperatures in the teens. Her pipes burst and now she is in the process of navigating unexpected costs and depleted savings while trying to get her home fixed. Her home has been deemed unlivable, and may need to be completely re-piped which insurance will not pay for. Her senior dog Lucy, almost 14 years old, has developed upper respiratory issues after living through this event. Sara has had a very rough year prior to this as well,  after surviving Covid in 2020 and severe long term effects of the illness, including complete adrenal failure. Though she often doesn’t feel
well, Sara gives of herself daily with students, going above and beyond to serve her community by encouraging young minds and future leaders. Let’s go above and beyond to support her, and show her how much we love and appreciate her, in this challenging time of need!
