Hi, my name is Julian Rumowski. A close friend of mine, Eugenio Santana, has been on an incredible journey for the past 4 plus years!

Eugenio, AKA "Santana" as we all call him, is coming BACK to Chicago! Santana was a long-time security guard at Wrigley Field. Santana left in April of 2021 to take care of his ailing mother in Puerto Rico. An unfortunate turn of health events turned his life into a journey of heartache and a major change and challenge in his life!

In the fall of 2021, Santana had a cut on his big toe which became infected. With his preexisting diabetes diagnosis and poor healthcare in P.R., Santana lost his right leg above his knee. In early 2023, Santana lost his mom to her battle with health issues. Several months later, Santana suffered a blood clot to his left leg and had to have his left leg amputated.

I have been in contact with Santana for the last several years, and things have not been easy as you can imagine. He has struggled with daily tasks and obstacles with proper medical services, transportation, and dealing with the loss of his mother!

I will be picking Santana up from O'Hare tomorrow night, September 30th! Santana will be coming with only a backpack, a suitcase, and his mobility device. That is it! He is very excited to be coming back to Chicago!

Santana will be staying at a hotel/motel for now, as navigating the system takes time. In the meantime, if you can be of any help to Santana in making this move easier, please consider donating whatever you can!
