Hello everyone, my name is Rasheda (Highland, NY). Along with my step-dad Pascal (West Orange, NJ) we are looking to raise funds to help my cousin Sania and my mother in Westmoreland, Jamaica.
In October 2025, Hurricane Melissa heavily damaged the home of my late Aunt Carline — destroying the roof, surrounding area, and affecting nearby homes. Sania, my mom and a few close friends have been working each morning since Melissa hit to repair the home belonging to Sania's recently deceased mother.
Earlier this year, in May 2025, Aunt Carline underwent an amputation that left her unable to walk. Sania moved back home to care for her and her elderly, disabled grandmother. Sadly, on August 27th, Carline unexpectedly passed away.
Sania and her aunt Maxine (my mother, Pascal's wife) used what little they had to cover funeral expenses, leaving them without funds to fix the damages from the storm. Sania has always been devoted to her family—caring for her mother through chronic illness, paying medical bills, covering household expenses, and ensuring Carline was never alone.
Losing her mother has been incredibly hard, both emotionally and financially. Despite it all, Sania continues to care for her grandmother and is determined to rebuild their family home.
We’re asking for your help to support her in repairing her mother’s house and restoring a safe place for our family to live.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover:
- Roof and structural repairs
- Replacement of damaged furniture and belongings
- Building materials and labor costs
- Essential living supplies for Sania and her grandmother
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your kindness will help bring stability, comfort, and hope to a family that has already endured so much in a short time period.
Thank you to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your generosity means more than words can say. Thank you ❤️
