Help Sandy Get Into Her Own Home

Help Sandy to Buy Her Forever Home!  UPDATE 12/08/21:
Sandy was forced to move, but has been able to save half of the down payment. We have found a manufactured home that she has a good chance of getting in to, but she still needs to raise at least $4,000.00.

I created this fund for Sandy eight months ago, but we were only able to raise 1,850.00, she needs more money for an inspection and the down payment, then, if Fairies have wings, the move. I have found a manufactured home in a solid, established Park that she has a very good chance of getting in to, but she needs to raise at least $4K, as the Seller requires $10K down. She saved $6,000 on her own accord, scrimping in order to realize her dream of owning a manufactured home.

She has experienced extreme hardship over the last six years and after getting to know her I was compelled to help. She came within two weeks of homelessness. She never missed a rent payment and was an exceptional renter, but her Landlord made a rough decision to sell as the current market (and four college aged kids to care for) left them with no other choice. She has been relocated to temporary housing where in just six months she has been stalked and threatened by another tenant, had her car severely damaged by a vagrant, runaway van, her silent MCS Disability and the fragrances used in the building are causing her to be ill daily. The facility is experiencing difficulty and maintenance is very poor…   She does not deserve this, she is a good person and she needs to move out of that place asap.

Sandy has fought breast cancer, endured chemo therapy, radiation and eight surgeries in six years. She had heart and kidney failure and her liver was affected by the chemo drugs.  We met as she was seeking  a resolve from being tossed out, when she did nothing to deserve that, and after everything she has been through I don’t want to let her down. She is now Disabled and low income, and this home would be a long term answer to providing her with stability for the rest of her life, rather than throwing money into another bad rental situation with no resolve.

Since 2007, Sandy has been forced to move four times for the same reason: Landlords selling out from under her, which was not her fault and she does not fault them.  She says, “Business is Business”, but this has caused her great financial burden, as housing costs and the cost of living have escalated and each move cost her in excess of $3K!!

Sandy has owned a small business for 18 years.  Prior to her health challenges she was a profession jazz singer and did voice over work. Her goal is to sing and perform again soon, she just needs a little help to get back on that path. On top of everything else, Covid has caused her a 33% loss of business income.

I believe her situation is unique and deserves support and compensation from like-minded individuals.  We have tried working with numerous agencies, but the housing market and current staffing shortages with government programs means that the need is more than their capacity to help. The poor conditions in the dwelling she is in now is impacting her ability to heal from the consequences of chemo.

Please help Sandy to get into a permanent home. Your generosity will afford her a place where she can live out her life without the fear of ever being ousted from her home again.

Asking for help herself has been humiliating, but she says the experience has humbled her.
Her gratitude is boundless, unlimited and immense, and so is mine.

Thank you in advance for your help and consideration.
