Help reunite Sancha and his son.
In 2019 I experienced the beauty of Nepal and it's people. One of the people I met on that trip was a guy named Sancha, who I'd become good friends with. Since that trip we have stayed in contact and he continues to check in to see how life is going.
Recently on one of our calls Sancha had mentioned to me that his family and community in the small town of Lukla located in the Himalayas were seriously struggling due to COVID and the lack of tourists heading to the mountain. The most heartbreaking part was the fact that he could not afford to fly back to Kathamndu to see his 5 year old son who he hadn't seen in almost a year.
The Nepalese people are among some of the happiest, beautiful, resilient and giving people and Sancha encapsulates all those qualities which is why I am starting this GoFund Me campaign to help a friend in need and show that the simplest act of kindness from a group of strangers can change a person's life.
A porter on average can earn anywhere from $1-3AUD a day for carrying up to 30+kg up the mountain.
If you are fortunate enough to be a tour guide, you can earn anywhere from $10-$18AUD a day. Which is very little when you have a family to feed.
Which is why I am calling on my community to help support another community in need as well as help reunite a father and son and change a whole lot of people's lives.
THE GOAL: $3000
- To raise enough funds to purchase a ticket from Lukla to Nepal.
- Pay the rent for close to 6 months
- Provide food to the local community of 50+ people
