**Friends and Family, I Need Your Help!**
Last year, I shared my excitement about joining the board of Anvil of Hope, the nonprofit founded by Vicky and Peter Zien of AleSmith, dedicated to empowering San Diego’s youth and breaking the cycle of poverty. This year, I’m even more inspired — because I’ve seen firsthand just how life-changing our programs are.
My goal is to raise $1,000 again this year to keep our programs thriving, and I would be so grateful for your support.
Here’s the impact your donations have made at Paradise Hills Elementary School in Southeast San Diego:
**Breakdancing classes** — The program has been a game-changer. Attendance skyrocketed from as low as 30% to the high 90% range — just by giving students something they love to look forward to.
**After-school art classes** — In Spring 2025, 25 students participated and created incredible pieces they proudly brought home and shared throughout campus. The art teachers even said that students from PHES were the most respectful, kind, and enthusiastic group they’ve ever taught.
**Overall results**:
- Chronic absenteeism dropped by 6%.
- The number of students reading at or above grade level increased by 10%.
- And — almost no behavioral issues among students in art or breakdancing classes.
This is what your generosity makes possible.
Please consider helping me reach my $1,000 goal by donating or sharing this campaign with others who believe in empowering kids through opportunity, mentorship, and love. Every dollar truly makes a difference.
Together, we can keep these amazing programs running for the 2025-2026 school year — and keep watching our students soar. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping us make San Diego brighter — one child at a time.
