For 37 years, we have dedicated our lives to caring for our beloved son, Sammy‑Joe\. He is our world, and every day we fight to give him the safety, dignity and quality of life he deserves\.

Sammy‑Joe lives with Trichothiodystrophy, an extremely rare, complex and progressive genetic condition\. He is now completely dependent on others for every part of his daily life and requires continuous, high\-intensity care around the clock\.

Despite everything he faces, Sammy‑Joe’s wish is simple: he wants to remain safely at home with his family\.

Why We Urgently Need Help

Many essential items Sammy‑Joe uses every day are not currently being covered by the NDIS\. These are not optional purchases—they are necessary for his health, comfort, hygiene and daily care\.

These expenses cost our family approximately $1,000 every week\. Our outstanding consumables bill is approaching $10,000, and more than $5,000 is currently owing to the pharmacy\.

Sammy‑Joe’s disability\-related needs have placed enormous financial pressure on our family\. We have exhausted our savings and made sacrifices beyond what most people could imagine\. We simply cannot continue meeting these costs alone\.

What Is at Risk

Without urgent help, Sammy‑Joe’s health, safety and ability to remain at home could be placed at risk\.

Home is where Sammy‑Joe feels secure\. It is where he is surrounded by the people who know and love him\. It is where he belongs\.

While we continue fighting through the appropriate NDIS and Tribunal processes for adequate funding, these bills still need to be paid and Sammy‑Joe’s essential care cannot stop\.
