Her son, Gage, was the victim of a violent assault while doing something incredibly brave and selfless. He stepped in to help a young woman who was being physically attacked, and in the process, he was stabbed in the stomach. He is currently receiving treatment in the trauma center in Miami, Florida, and his family is focused entirely on his recovery.

As soon as she received the devastating news, Samantha immediately flew to Florida to be by her son's side. While no parent ever hesitates to go to their child in a crisis, the unexpected travel has created significant expenses for lodging, meals, and transportation while she remains there supporting him through this difficult journey.

Gage is a kind, hardworking young man with a caring heart. He simply saw someone in danger and chose to help. An act of compassion and courage should never end in tragedy, yet he is now fighting to recover from serious injuries.
