My name is Samantha, and I live in Seneca, Pennsylvania with my seven-year-old son, Salvatore. I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help, but right now, I’m reaching out for support to keep my son safe and our lives on track. In mid-May, I purchased a 2016 Chevy Trax, hoping it would provide reliable transportation for Salvatore and me. Unfortunately, the car broke down the day before Salvatore’s seventh birthday, leaving us stranded and unable to celebrate as we had hoped. Thanks to friends, Sal was still able to have a small party and a gift, but the situation has been incredibly stressful for both of us.

Salvatore is a bright, energetic kid who loves Minecraft, Transformers, and anything to do with Legos. He also lives with juvenile Type 1 diabetes, which means reliable transportation is not just a convenience—it’s a necessity for getting him to medical appointments, school, and handling our daily routines. Since the car broke down, it’s been a struggle to manage even basic needs like buying school clothes and supplies for Sal. I’ve reached out to local charities, and two churches along with another organization have generously offered some help. I’ve also put in what I can, but we’re still falling short of what’s needed to get our car safely back on the road.

This is my first time ever creating a GoFundMe, and it’s not easy to ask for assistance. But I’m running out of options and want to make sure Salvatore has what he needs to stay healthy and succeed in school.
