The Al-Madhouns are a kind and loving family of 9 currently trapped in North Gaza. 42 year-old mother of 7, Samah, is facing the heartbreaking reality of yet another forced displacement. This is not the first time Samah's family has had to relocate, as their ties to the great land predate the Nakba, but it is the first time there seems to be no option other than to leave.

For generations, the Al-Madhoun family has stood steadfast in the face of unemployment, occupation, relentless bombing and forced displacement. The choice to leave their homeland is not an easy one, but in the wake of the Israeli occupation expanding its control over the remaining areas of Gaza, there seems to be no other option.

This year has been very hard for Samah, as she has done all that she could to keep her children and remaining family members safe. After losing their home in the bombing early on, they have been in need of proper and stable shelter. She provides for her son Ibrahim, who has Down Syndrome and is in need of hands-on medical care. Her other young son, Amr, went to the Zikim corridor in an attempt to retrieve flour from the distribution point. He, among many, left severely wounded after the aid truck ran over his feet, fracturing them. The remaining hospitals in the North are operating in dire conditions, resulting in the inability to properly treat Amr for his injuries. Due to this injury, he is unable to go to the distribution point and can no longer attempt to secure food for the family. Samah's youngest daughter, Jood, is just eight years old and has been deprived of proper education for nearly two years now. She wishes to celebrate her next birthday where the drones do not buzz overhead and the walls do not stand in fear before the bombs. Many friends and family members have been lost, and we would like to do everything that we can to help Samah and her family escape the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
