Help Sam and Jessica pay for plumbing

Hi all,
My neighbors Sam and Jessica are very good people who are having some heavy financial difficulty. Sam and Jessica have 4 children of their own. Jessica’s sister passed away just before the holidays, and Sam and Jessica are now fostering the deceased sisters’ 3 children. There are now 9 people living in the house; the kids are ages 7-19. This family was barely making ends meet and then tree roots broke through the pipes of their plumbing system, and the cost is beyond their financial means.
Instead of making our usual donations to charities, my sister and I decided to adopt this family to pay for the plumbing repair. The original estimate to fix the problem was $2500, which my sister and I covered. Unfortunately, once the plumber got a better look, the damages were a lot more extensive than they originally thought, over double the original estimate.
This family is very hard working and they do a lot for their community and family.
