Hello this is Nicole , Salvadors daughter

On October 17, 2025, around 9:00 a.m my father, Salvador Lopez, was taken by ICE agents at the Home Depot in Inglewood, CA (Hillcrest & La Cienega) while simply purchasing supplies for his workday. He was one of about 15 individuals detained without warning, warrants, or any kind of identity checks . He was completely taken at random.

My father came to this country 25 years ago with nothing but faith, determination, and a dream. He built an honest life through hard work and integrity . He learned English, became a taxpaying business owner, and never once relied on government assistance. Most importantly, he has NO criminal record and is in the process of receiving his U-Visa, which recognizes and protects immigrants who have helped law enforcement and lived responsibly in the U.S.

My dad is a man who worked tirelessly, often under the sun for long hours. He takes immense pride in being a gardener and handyman, running his own small business that he built from the ground up. His clients love and respect him because he always shows up with a smile, ready to help, and ready to work. He has done everything right to fulfill his version of the American dream… yet was still taken by ICE. Our dad is the heart and foundation of our family. It is deeply saddening to see my 12 year old sister distraught over our dad , her superhero, being literally torn away from us from one day to the next.

Next year, my father will be turning 50 years old, a milestone we prayed we’d celebrate together. What makes this especially emotional is that he is also a cancer survivor. By the grace of God and the work of dedicated doctors, his cancerous tumors were removed, but as any survivor knows, the healing process is ongoing. We are worried about his health and well being while detained, especially given the stressful and often inhumane conditions reported in these facilities.

Since his detainment, we’ve learned that the wait time just to simply see a judge can take up to six months. We will not sit by for even 1 month or 2 , let alone the potential 6 months.

Our family’s focus now is to

Hire the best legal representation to ensure his case is handled promptly and justly.

Stay strong and keep the hope alive for his safe and quick return home.

Keep his business running, which is his pride and purpose

My 19 year old brother quickly stepped up and decided to put his studies and personal job on hold to continue our father’s business which is something he learned directly from our dad since he was a child. My brother along with my father’s loyal workers are determined to keep things running until he comes home. Our uncle, a licensed contractor, is also helping complete the remaining jobs my father left behind.

Our mother also runs her own small housekeeping business and has a few spots open for new clients that we would appreciate we could fill during these times.

The biggest thing we ask of our community is if you or someone you know is in need of gardening/handyman services or housekeeping please reach out. Work referrals mean the world to us. Keeping the business going is one of the best ways we can honor my dad and make sure he has something to return to when he’s home again. I will attach our businesses info below and in the pictures

The second biggest thing our family can ask for

from the bottom of our hearts if for your prayers during this time. We pray that our father is treated with kindness, compassion, and humanity. That his spirit stays strong despite the fear and uncertainty. His legal process moves swiftly and justly, His health remains stable and that God protects his body and mind through this hardship.

Timeline of Events

10/17/2025

9:00 AM: Salvador taken by ICE from Home Depot, Inglewood

10:00 AM: Transferred to ICE Field Office in Downtown Los Angeles

7:00 PM: First phone call received , he reported being held in a very cold cell with no food or water and lots of intimidation from officers to sign for self deportation.

10/18/2025

9:00 AM: He was able to call us again and informed us he was finally given food(breakfast,cereal) he was also transferred overnight to Santa Ana Field Office,told he will be moved back to dtla by end of night and expected to move to a detention center by 10/20/2025 where we can finally begin his legal process .

10/19/2025

11am: He called us to let us know he was okay and that he is back in downtown Los Angeles immigration field office.

10/20/2025

Still in dtla , was finally able to receive a sweater and my cousin Martin was able to visit him and give him sweatpants.

10/24/2025

Transferred overnight to Otay Mesa Detention Center. Conditions here a much better than DTLA

10/26/25

He was able to purchase commissary and Will receive it this Wednesday 10-29-25 and he tells us conditions in Otay are much better than DTLA. Over the weekend he was finally able to shower , brush his teeth , get fresh clothes etc. which is something he went without for 7 days.

10-27-25

We now have his oficial master court date. He will appear in court with his lawyer on 11-6-25 for a preliminary hearing and lawyer will ask for a DA Dismissal nothing is guarenteed but We ask for prayers and good energy thank you

11-7-25

His first court date went okay , the lawyer let us know his next court date will be December 4th 2025 where he will present the application for cancelation of removals that judge Mark Samait is letting us apply for. This is certainly a chance for him to get out but the acceptance rate for these applications are very low :( we continue to ask for prayers for my father and our family thank

you.

12-4-25- Bond hearing was held for my dad and the judge neither denied nor approved it. Judge simply said “he doesn’t have the jurisdiction” to grant a bond to him.

01-05-26- Bond hearing was held due to the process of habeus corpus and it was approved:)!

01-09-26 Bond was paid at 9am, total of 1,500$ and my father was home by 11pm

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED IT MEANS THE WORLD TO US Our lawyer fee came out to 8,000$ , about 1200$ in commissary and phone call money for my dad while he was in prison, about 500$ in Gas money in order to visit my father from LA to Otay mesa during the 3 months and all while still paying for rent bills groceries etc ! So thank you to everyone who contributed and who is still helping us it really means the world to us

Hola, soy Nicole, la hija de Salvador.

El 17 de octubre de 2025, alrededor de las 9:00 a.m. mi padre, Salvador López, fue detenido por agentes de ICE en el Home Depot de Inglewood, CA (Hillcrest y La Cienega) mientras simplemente compraba materiales para su día de trabajo. Fue uno de aproximadamente 15 individuos detenidos sin aviso, sin órdenes judiciales y sin revisión de identidad. Lo tomaron completamente al azar.

Mi padre llegó a este país hace 25 años, con nada más que fe, determinación y un sueño. Construyó una vida honesta a base de trabajo duro y integridad. Aprendió inglés, se convirtió en un dueño de negocio que paga sus impuestos y nunca dependió de ayuda del gobierno. El no tiene antecedentes criminales y está en proceso de recibir su Visa-U, la cual reconoce y protege a los inmigrantes que han colaborado con las autoridades y han vivido de forma responsable en los Estados Unidos.

Mi papá es un hombre que trabaja incansablemente, muchas veces bajo el sol por largas horas. Se siente orgulloso de ser jardinero y handyman, manejando su propio negocio que el solo construyó desde cero. Sus clientes lo quieren y lo respetan porque siempre llega con una sonrisa, dispuesto a ayudar y trabajar. Ha hecho todo correctamente para cumplir su versión del sueño americano… y aun así fue detenido por ICE.

Nuestro padre es el corazón y la base de nuestra familia. Es profundamente doloroso ver a mi hermanita de 12 años devastada por la ausencia de su papá , su superhéroe , ser arrancado de nosotros de un día para otro.

El próximo año, mi papá cumplirá 50 años, un logro que orábamos poder celebrar juntos. Lo que hace esto aún más emocional es que él también es sobreviviente de cáncer. Gracias a Dios y al trabajo de médicos dedicados, sus tumores cancerosos fueron removidos, pero como todo sobreviviente sabe, el proceso de sanación continúa. Nos preocupa su salud y bienestar mientras está detenido, especialmente considerando las condiciones estresantes y inhumanas que se han reportado en estos centros.

Desde su detención, hemos sabido que el tiempo de espera para ver a un juez puede tardar hasta seis meses. No nos vamos a quedarnos de brazos cruzados ni un mes, ni dos, y mucho menos seis.

Ahora el enfoque de nuestra familia es:

• Contratar la mejor representación legal para asegurar que su caso sea tratado rápida y justamente.

• Mantenernos fuertes y mantener viva la esperanza de su pronto y seguro regreso a casa.

• Seguir manejando su negocio, que es su orgullo y su propósito.

Mi hermano de 19 años rápidamente dio un paso al frente y decidió poner en pausa sus estudios y su trabajo personal para continuar con el negocio de nuestro padre, el trabajo es algo que aprendió directamente de él desde niño. Mi hermano, junto con los trabajadores leales de mi papá, están determinados a mantener el negocio funcionando hasta que él regrese. Nuestro tío, contratista con licencia, también está ayudando a completar los trabajos pendientes que mi padre dejó.

Nuestra madre también tiene su propio pequeño negocio de limpieza y actualmente tiene algunos espacios disponibles para nuevos clientes, los cuales agradeceríamos poder llenar en estos tiempos.

Lo más grande que le pedimos a nuestra comunidad es que, si usted o alguien que conoce necesita servicios de jardinería o reparaciones, por favor contáctenos. Las recomendaciones de trabajo significan el mundo para nosotros. Mantener el negocio activo es una de las mejores formas de honrar a mi papá y asegurarnos de que tenga algo a lo cual regresar cuando esté de vuelta en casa. Lo segundo más importante que pedimos, desde lo más profundo de nuestro corazón, son sus oraciones.

Creemos en el poder de la oración. Hemos visto milagros antes, y seguimos con fe en que Dios lo guiará de regreso a nosotros sano y salvo.

Línea de tiempo de los eventos

10/17/2025

• 9:00 AM: Salvador es detenido por ICE en Home Depot, Inglewood.

• 10:00 AM: Transferido a la oficina de ICE en el centro de Los Ángeles.

• 7:00 PM: Primera llamada telefónica recibida; informó que lo mantenían en una celda muy fría, sin comida ni agua, y que los oficiales lo intimidaban para que firmara una auto-deportación.

10/18/2025

• 9:00 AM: Pudo llamarnos nuevamente y nos informó que finalmente le dieron comida (desayuno, cereal).

También fue transferido durante la noche a la oficina de ICE en Santa Ana, y le dijeron que lo moverían de regreso al centro de Los Ángeles al final del día, para luego ser trasladado a un centro de detención el 20/10/2025, donde finalmente podremos comenzar su proceso legal.

10/19/2025

11 a.m.: Nos llamó para avisarnos que estaba bien y que ya está de regreso en la oficina de inmigración del centro de Los Ángeles.

10/20/2025

Todavia está en el centro de Los Ángeles, finalmente resivio visita en person y se le pudo dar pantalón nuevo y ya tenía un sweater.

10/26/25

Pudo comprar en la comisaría y recibirá sus cosas este miércoles 29 de octubre de 2025. Nos cuenta que las condiciones en Otay son mucho mejores que en el centro de detención de DTLA. Durante el fin de semana finalmente pudo bañarse, cepillarse los dientes, ponerse ropa limpia, etc., algo que no pudo hacer durante 7 días en Los Ángeles

10/27/25

Ahora tenemos su fecha oficial de audiencia principal. Se presentará en la corte con su abogado el 6 de noviembre de 2025 para una audiencia preliminar, y el abogado solicitará una desestimación del caso por parte del fiscal (DA Dismissal). Nada está garantizado, pero pedimos oraciones y buena energía. Gracias.

12-04-25

Se llevó a cabo una audiencia de fianza para mi papá y el juez no la negó ni la aprobó. Simplemente dijo que “no tenía jurisdicción” para otorgarle una fianza.

01-05-26 – Se llevó a cabo la audiencia de fianza debido al proceso de habeas corpus, ¡y fue aprobada!

01-09-26 – La fianza se pagó a las 9 a.m., por un total de $1,500, y mi papá estuvo en casa a las 11 p.m.

GRACIAS A TODAS LAS PERSONAS QUE DONARON, SIGNIFICA EL MUNDO PARA NOSOTROS

Los honorarios de nuestra abogada fueron de $8,000, aproximadamente $1,200 en dinero para comisaría y llamadas telefónicas para mi papá mientras estuvo en prisión, alrededor de $500 en gasolina para poder visitarlo desde Los Ángeles hasta Otay Mesa durante esos 3 meses, todo esto mientras seguíamos pagando renta, recibos, comida, etc.

Así que gracias de todo corazón a todos los que contribuyeron y a quienes aún nos siguen ayudando. De verdad significa el mundo para nosotros
