Salli has been a resident of Canton from birth. She attended the Canton schools and lived in the family home from birth until a large tree fell on the house due to high winds during the February 23, 2026 snow storm. Friends in the community have rallied to help her, providing temporary housing and helping Salli find a suitable place to live going forward. She has been fortunate to have been placed in an apartment that will be easier for her to manage both physically and financially. The damage to the family home is extensive and the home has been deemed uninhabitable by the town.


Salli now faces the overwhelming task of moving her belongings, draining the water lines to prevent further damage, and hiring professionals to remove the fallen tree and clean up the property. These unexpected expenses are more than she can manage alone, and the process of starting over is both emotionally and financially challenging.
