Help Salah & Family

Update as of 10/12/2023
As most know, Salah's father and I separated early this year. I am on every amount of government assistance I can get on. I was forced to move to income based apartments which I got VERY lucky to get in to, forced to give away my two child hood cats and my dog, I have moved away from good friends that become family, struggling with anxiety and depression AGAIN after fighting so hard to climb out of that hole, fighting to learn how to work this new life with Salah and I. I am at rock bottom. I rely on everyone for everything right now and my family and friends do all they can for me and I am extremely appreciative of that. At this moment, I can not work because Salah can not attent day care due to her autoimmune system and her medical complexities. I trust TWO PEOPLE to keep and watch my daughter for extended amount of times that have their own families, own lives and own health issues at the moment. Salah is an easy baby but she is a DEMANDING baby. She is constantly being gtube fed, she has three therapies a week and an early interventionist. She has multiple appointments still from pcp to pulmonology. She needs constant care and one on one to ensure she is developing correctly considering she is extremely developmentally delayed. I am doing the best I can with what I have and that’s not a lot right now. I have bills that are due next week that I can’t pay because CS doesn’t cover even half of the things that are a necessity to my life and especially Salahs life and my payments are a week behind with no help as to why from DSS. I am in NO WAY forcing anyone to look at this post and feel like I am begging for anything. I have posted this before, posted asking for help before.. If you read this post and want to help me get on my feet until I can figure out what to do, by all means, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, do. I am at a stop, I want to give up but it isn’t just me anymore. I have a baby that looks up to her mommy and I can’t give up, I just have to get up and on my feet first. 11/15/22 update: Salah is now 16 lbs 13 oz! As of right now we’re having some issues with medicaid covering certain medical procedures and lab fees. I am in the works of figuring this out! We were also switched to a new formula so hopefully we don’t have issues ordering this one as we did with the last ons! I’m just reposting our gofundme as we are still collecting and raising money to go into a fund for Salah for medical needs and supplies that aren’t covered as well as travel expenses for appointments and therapy. Some things we have to buy extra on our own because we are only provided a specific amount a month and it never lasts! We want to continue to graciously thank everyone that has kept up with Salah and donated or prayed for us. We are going strong but still have a long road ahead of us!

9/1/22 update: Salah will be ONE tomorrow! She has grown so much and is becoming stronger every single day. We are still delayed with some things but it’s to be expected from a baby with low muscle tone. We are still on oxygen at 100 mls. For now, we are not weaning and are unsure when we will begin the weaning process again! She is doing so well with everything thrown at her. She is taking to therapy very well and we will start inhome physical therapy soon to help even more with her milestones!

Salah was a micro preemie, born September 2nd at 27 weeks (she was measuring 23+4), weighing 1 lb 4.1 oz. From the get go in the NICU, Salah faced so many critical illnesses. She received her picc line and a day later contracted a staph infection that almost took her from us. She was on antibiotics for 4+ weeks all while not gaining weight. We were then informed of Salahs lung disease, where they are not fully developed and have a hard time opening up fully when she tries to take a breath. She had been intubated for most of her life, only on CPAP for a few days but needed to be reintubated as she was struggling so hard to breath on her own.
Salah is now a little over 4 months old, weighing 8 lbs 4.2 oz. Since our last update on gofundme, Salah was diagnosed with apnea, BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia ), chronic lung disease, chylothorax, rickets, and much more. Her lungs have been extremely sick since the day shewas born, mostly due to her prematurity and how little she was when she was born.

Today, we are working on getting her off the tube and keeping her off. While she is still critically ill, her lungs are improving and are seeing some profress. We are still very unsure of some things and won’t know until she can show us, but we are being very hopeful and keeping good faith on everything.
As most of you may know, I also have been in and our of the hospital myself due to my gallbladder. I had my gallbladder removed and had some stents placed and just recently had those removed. I am now having some blood work done to look at my liver enzymes to make sure things are okay there.

While Logan is working now and has received his old position back, bills continued to pike up and swallow us and we are still trying to get back on track. Donations go towards this as well as necessities for Salah that she can use inside the NICU as well as when she comes home.

We are so thankful for everyone that donates and remembers us and takes the time to keep up with our updates. We are truly blessed. Thank you and we love you all so much❤️
