Hi, my name's Sagen! I’m a Black trans art student raising money to help cover the remaining costs of my gender-affirming bilateral orchiectomy.

When I originally created this fundraiser, my goal was $5,000 because I was facing the full cost of surgery, anesthesia, transportation, recovery expenses, and other related costs largely on my own.

Since then, I’ve made a lot of progress.

Through working, saving, and putting aside as much of my own money as I can, I’ve been able to cover a significant portion of the expenses myself. Because of that, I’ve lowered the fundraiser goal from $5,000 to $1,600.

I’m extremely proud that I’ve been able to get this much closer to my goal through my own efforts, but $1,600 is still a significant amount for me while I’m also balancing school, work, housing, HRT, and everyday expenses.

This surgery is extremely important to me. It would give me greater security in my transition, and bring me closer to feeling comfortable in my body.

I’m currently working through the required paperwork and preparations while continuing to save toward the remaining cost.
