Help Safeguard Frontline EJ Leaders in Little Village
Donation protected
Beginning this week , frontline environmental justice leaders and their families in Little Village and around Chicago, whom I and many of you work closely with, are facing unprecedented threats from immigration officers. These threats are and will continue to cause profound impacts to these leaders day-to-day lives, work, and well-being. We are fundraising to provide additional resources to support these frontline leaders with know your rights trainings, resources needed to work from home and any needs for establishing necessary safety plans and ways to reduce the risk of interactions with officers. Funds will be transferred to a lead staffer who will distribute funds via a mobile payment app as leaders identify needs with a google form. These leaders are doing critically important work on climate justice, equitable and sustainable transportation, industrial pollution, urban farming, etc. and they need our support right now. Your funds are needed to support and protect these leaders and their families, their work, and the broader climate justice movement. Thank you.
Funds will be transferred to Tanuja Jagernauth who will be managing and distributing them to members of the community upon request via Venmo or Zelle. The distribution period will begin when funds are made available and will discontinue when funds have been fully disbursed to members of the community.
