Hello everyone,

I am Sa’eed Halimi Hussein Al-Baytar, a Palestinian artist and film director, and I'm reaching out to share the dire situation my family is facing. We are a family of eight, consisting of three boys and five girls, residing in Gaza. Tragically, our home on Jalaa Street in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood was hit by an Israeli airstrike, leaving us with nothing but the clothes on our backs.

Currently, my wife, Um As'ad, and three daughters—Malik, Hilana, and Ghazal—along with my son Muhammad, have found refuge in shelters in Rafah after fleeing the north. However, my two sons, As’ad and Fathallah, along with their four children, as well as my daughters and their families, remain trapped in Gaza. Some of my nieces were martyred in the attacks, leaving us in constant fear under bombardment.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire. People are struggling to survive amidst widespread destruction, limited access to basic necessities, and ongoing violence. Our family is facing unimaginable challenges, with no food, no money, and no home. We are currently staying with another family in a tent in Rafah, struggling to make ends meet. The rest of our family members in the north are also living in miserable conditions, facing uncertainty and hardship on a daily basis.

In Rafah, including myself, there are six family members, while in Gaza, there are ten, including four children. Each child requires $2,500 for passage at the Egyptian border, while each adult requires $5,000. Any contribution, regardless of the amount, will greatly assist us in escorting our family members one by one before it's too late. Even if we don't reach our goal, any amount raised will help in our mission to reunite our family. We are hoping to cross the borders from Gaza to Egypt, and then onward to Amman, where my sister resides and where we hope to find refuge.
