Help Sacramento’s Costanza’s Bar
Donation protected
If you know me, then you most likely know my friend Gabe Owens. Or at least heard me talk about him, because he’s one of the funniest, kindest guys I know. He’s my ex roommate, my ex soccer teammate, and my ex lover (haha he wishes!!!)
But most importantly he’s one of my dearest friends. He worked his butt off opening Costanzas in Sacramento. And last night, a group of “protesters” decided to destroy his bar. To prove what? Nothing. Gabe put it perfectly in his Instagram post about the vandalism:
“This is not about George Floyd. Almost everyone was against that murder. (Most Small biz owners are with the cause) this was a chance to unite everyone and has ended with division. Destruction of small businesses, attacking owners trying to prevent the loss of everything (Which is exactly what you have to put in to make small biz work) And deaths of actual protesters take away from your point. These rioters are scum, Anyone contributing to the fundraiser to free these criminals should be ashamed. And to be clear, scum and criminals is not a racial profile, it applies to all races who want to commit crimes with the front of protesting. Majority of the protesters were peaceful, now they are all being lumped together with the select few that are the bad apples. Sounds somewhat familiar to the very system they are outraged against. Despite all of this, I won’t let the select few and the medias narrative Divide me from my friends, family, and customers/clients.”
Living so far away, I felt that I needed to do something for Gabe as well as the other owners, employees, patrons, and Sacramento- my old home. I’m embarrassed that this happened in a town I brag about once living in. Please help Fix Costanza’s. This will go towards fixing the glass, paint, and other repairs.
Anything helps. Thank you so much.
