My name is Sabrina, and I am reaching out for help for myself and my family during an incredibly difficult time. Recently, our apartment management sent us an email notice that we owed a large amount and gave us only a day to pay. With my severe disability and major mobility issues, it's simply impossible for us to come up with that amount so quickly. My health has been getting worse, and I can't be left alone at home. My husband has been my caregiver since the year after we got married, which was also the year I lost my father. We have two young adult children—one is working, and the other is trying to start school. We have until February 28th to move out, but after paying most of our bills, we have nothing left to put toward a new place.

In 2022, I was seeing doctors at Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministries before my health took a turn for the worse. In October 2022, I found out I was having serious heart problems, and I later learned that I had two heart attacks in December 2020 that were masked by sugar drops. My heart is failing and weak, and I am too sick to be outside in the cold. We are doing everything we can to find a safe place to live, but the situation is urgent and overwhelming.

We originally hoped to do rent-to-own, but my credit has taken too many hits due to missed or late credit card payments. As a family, we decided to rent for now. The funds raised will help us with deposits and moving costs. If we can't find a rental in time, we may need to use the funds for temporary housing, like a motel, to keep us safe and together. No matter the amount you give, it gives my family a little more hope. All of us are quite stressed and trying our best not to worry too much.
