Help Ryan Purchase A Forever Home

Hi friends! My name is Aaron, and I have known my friend, Ryan for 15 years. Ryan is disabled on SSDI/SSI. He gets $934 per month SSDI/SSI and $118 EBT and its not much to live on. He has been homeless throughout most of our friendship and was unable for 10 years to find a open to apply low income housing wait list and another 3 years before getting a low income apartment. It should not have taken 13 years. There was and are bad applications to qualify for assistance due to poor state and local policies and flawed assistance programs. Ryan lacks the following issues which would have qualify him for more immediate assistance with a housing voucher through Multnomah County Coronated access application: 1. Ryan doesn’t have a drug or alcohol dependency problem. 2. Ryan is not a sex worker. 3. Ryan has not been arrested or jailed ever. 4. Ryan has no evictions. 5. Ryan has a therapist. 6. Ryan has a primary care physician. 7. Ryan takes his medications. Ryan makes great decisions as to how to live and has been punished for it with years of homelessness. Ryan has been through more in his life then people should ever have to go through before he even turned 18 years old. Gone through severe child abuse which left him with many physical disabilities that will get worse and mental disorders he battles daily and he has learning disabilities making some things more difficult than others. He does his very best at all times and I’m proud of him for not giving up on life or his goals in life. He has had some really rough times and without any family to help out, but friends help him as much as we can. Ryan is always helping other people in anyway he is able, and I admire that about him. We are hoping that our communities will come together and help Ryan purchase a home that he will not have to lose due to bad policies and programs. Please help!
He deserves to have a house where he wouldn't have to live alone and would have more space to exist in. One issue he often struggles with is agoraphobia so he is home most of the time because of this. I know him and what he has been through. Ryan deserves a forever home and because of his income being so little this is the only way he will be able to own a house, a real home. He will be able to rent out rooms in his house and that will pay for the end of year taxes, house upkeep and utilities. He is definitely responsible enough to have a house and I know he would be happier in a larger space and with other people living with him would be much better for him. I wish everyone could know how great he is and that he cares so much for even strangers he comes across who he helps in some way. So I wanted to put this fundraiser up for him in hope of helping him fulfill his dream of owning a home. He helps people take care of their animals also. Ryan just has a big heart despite his painful and difficult childhood and life. So please, if you are able to help get him a forever home, please help. Thank you for taking the time to read.
