Support Eagle Scout Project and Bring Books to Botswana Kids

Hi, I’m Ryan McDowell and I am working on my Eagle Scout service project. I’m working with the charity Books for Development to create a mobile library for an underserved community in Botswana, Africa.

Eighty percent of children in Sub-Saharan Africa are not proficient in reading. And, illiteracy can lead to limited access to education, fewer job opportunities and poverty across generations. I chose this project because I love to read and know how it can increase a person’s desire to learn more.

Please join me to address the book famine that exists in many underdeveloped countries. I would greatly appreciate you donating to my Go Fund Me. All funds will go towards buying educational books for children primarily elementary through high school although adults will benefit as well. Any contributions are greatly appreciated and no amount is too small.
