*Update*
Adoption plans are moving along quickly. The home study is in process and papers are ready to be signed with the adoption agency. Ryan and Ginnie owe $12,000 to them at the time the papers are signed. The remain balance is due one month after. Any little bit will help them make the first $12,000 payment! Ryan and Virginia Sutton were married in September 2016 and knew they would welcome and love every soul God would send to their care. However, after almost five years, they are left with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility.
Four different doctors, thousands of miles travels and thousands of dollars spent have yielded no answers. After much prayer and fasting, they both feel strongly called to adoption. They are leaning heavily on God but also need a strong community surrounding them.
First and foremost, please pray with them. Specifically, they are praying for God’s
comfort and guidance as they wait to meet the little one who will join their family. They are also praying daily for his or her birth parent(s).
Secondly, if you are willing, they would appreciate any consideration to help
financially. In a private adoption, the largest financial burdens are the placement fees, legal fees, cost of a state home study and support for the birth mother. Money donated would help cover the cost owed at the time of match and
finalization once the baby is born — the average adoption cost in the U.S. ranges from $38,000 - $48,000.
Lastly, share their story. The more prayers and assistance gathered for Ryan and Virginia, the more likely they can achieve their dreams ofbecoming parents.
Thank you for your gracious love and assistance and may God richly reward you.
<FAQs>
Why is adoption so expensive? Where does the money go?
The cost of adoption can vary greatly based on each situation. Often, the cost covers agency fees, expectant/birth parent care, medical expenses and legal fees.
How long does it take to get matched?
It depends. Technically, it could happen anytime in the next two years. With God's
grace, hopefully, a match will be made in about 6-8 months.
How quickly will they have the baby after getting matched?
While there are a variety of possible match situations, they'll likely get matched with an expectant mother when she is in her 3rd trimester.
What type of baby are they going to adopt?
The baby type! They're open to a child of any gender, ethnicity, and family background.
What type of adoption are they pursuing?
After a lot of research and council, they’ve learned that an open or semi-open adoption is what is best for everyone involved (birth parents, child, and adoptive parents).
