Help Russ Montgomery restore his mission house and home.

Donation protected

Hello everyone, this is Josephine Shine sending you an up date on the fund raiser that was started for Russ Montgomery. As I originally told you Russ has not been able to stay in his home since October due to flooding from Hurricane Helene and Milton. He does not have flood or home owners insurance due the cost. He had hoped that FEMA would come through with funds he needs to restore his Mission home where he lives and carries out the important works of his mission. He had been trying to get bids to see how much it will take to put it back to live in condition. Unfortunately FEMA has offered very little help. He has an estimate from a reliable contractor to do the de-construction, and rebuild.
We have had some very generous donors get us started toward the goal he will need and we have received $4715.00 so far. While that amount is so appreciated it is far less than what is needed. The donations have STOPPED coming in, that is understandable due the holidays. I am hoping that we will get things back on track. Remember EVERY dollar counts, we just need and ask for more kind hearted people to join in and donate. PLEASE HELP Russ so he can continue his missionary work serving Jesus Christ.
Russ gave up a secular career to become a missionary improving eye care to poorest of poor. He travels to the Caribbean, South America and Africa to help with eye surgery on children and the elderly. Through his Mission he makes available many of the supplies and the equipment to measure the eyes. He goes places where no one has gone before to give hope and new life to those in need.
Please HELP Russ to rebuild so he can continue this important work that he has been called to do.
Thank You

community. I was displaced by Hurricane Helene and Milton. I was fortunate to stay with a gracious woman who is a dog sitter that cares for my puppy when I need to be away. I have been at her home since October where I met another less fortunate man named Russ Montgomery who she also helped with a place to stay. He also had to vacate his home due to flooding. While I have flood insurance to cover my losses he did not have flood or home owners insurance due to the high cost. Russ has applied for FEMA assistance but it has been over 2 months without any money from them. He cannot afford to just hire people to go in to his home and tear out rugs, walls, and baseboards, or do mold remediation. He also needs to replace his air conditioner, refrigerator, washer and dryer, and some furniture.
Russ lives very simply and has spent the last 30 years as a missionary serving impoverished peoples in the Caribbean, South America, and Africa. While in Angola Africa assisting with cataract surgery, he received a video from a neighbor showing his home had been flooded. He returned to find his home/office soaked.
The ministry of Living In Faith must continue on as Russ finds ways to support projects he is passionate about, such as providing clean water projects for churches in Cuba devasted by hurricane Oscar in October,2024. Russ is a 79 year old man who does what he can each day to try and salvage materials that were in his home that are needed for his important mission.
Please EVERY Dollar helps
