Tyler Mosser passed away suddenly in a tragic accident on October 31, 2018. He left behind the greatest light in his life, his three year old daughter Scarlett. He’s also survived by countless family and friends including his parents, Scarlett’s grandparents, Rus “Pepa”, and Liz “Mema”, and his sisters, Scarlett’s aunties, Tessa and Sara, and her five cousins – many of who were part of Tyler and Scarlett’s daily lives.
Tyler and Scarlett were inseparable. He had a bond with his daughter that is rarely seen between father and child, and took total joy in waking her in the morning, dressing her, getting breakfast, taking her to daycare, getting her from daycare, playing with her, feeding her dinner, bathing her, and getting her to bed. He was so deeply in love with her.
Adding to the sadness left by Tyler’s passing, our family hasn’t been able to see or speak to Tyler’s daughter Scarlett since his memorial service the week after his sudden death. The pain of his loss is multiplied by the inability to see his daughter and be part of her life.
Over the last year, we have had involve the law and seek grandparent visitation rights so that Scarlett will have the opportunity to remember her father, and know the grandparents, aunties, and cousins that she has always known. This has become a VERY expensive endeavor – paying out many thousands of dollars. Mema, working in the school district with special needs kids, and Pepa, retired and previously working for Tyler, live simple lives and don’t have the means to pay the heavy legal costs, especially in this drawn out situation.
Can you help us with court fees? With Tyler’s passing, we not only lost our son and brother in an instant, we lost a tree business that has been in the Mosser family for 44 years. We lost a steady income for Pepa as he still helped Tyler with the business in his retirement years. We are completely unprepared financially for this extremely important challenge – we can’t lose Scarlett simply because we don’t have adequate funds!! We need to give Scarlett a voice!
Please help in any way you can. This is such a painful ask for many, MANY reasons – but we must do it. We will never give up on what we KNOW Tyler wanted - the opportunity for Scarlett to grow up knowing her roots and her family.
