Help Roslindale Food Collective get a new van!!

Roslindale Food Collective is a hardworking group of volunteers founded and led by the powerhouse Leah Arteaga. The program distributes thoughtfully-assembled boxes of food to your neighbors and other folks in need in the Boston area, weekly, rain or shine, equitably and without requiring signups, registration, etc that could complicate the process for vulnerable families.

Last year the program distributed well over 200,000 pounds of food, here's how: every week, Leah runs pickups and food collection stops in a minivan. As the program has grown she has started to need to unload the minivan 3 times between Friday and Saturday in order to make space for more food, then load it all up again on Sunday to get it to the distribution site.

On top of these challenges, the program's van broke down last week and isn't worth putting a new engine into...

So please donate generously to help Leah and Roslindale Food Collective purchase a larger, newer used cargo van that will accommodate the week's food runs and provide years of reliable service. We are hoping to raise at least $15k, which is about the lowest-end cost for a cargo van with less than 150,000 miles on it.
