We are devastated to share that the cafe was subject to a break-in. On Saturday evening, the storefront door was completely shattered, and the cash register and safe were stolen.
Root Hill is an independently-owned coffee shop and bakery, cared for by two incredibly badass women, Kendra and Alejandra. Over the past 11 years, Kennie and Ale have made this little corner of Park Slope into a deeply cherished, warm, welcoming space for the community and passerby alike.
It’s a small business that’s faced the test of the pandemic, recurring flash floods, and now regrettably, a robbery, but we’re remaining hopeful. Home is both a place and it's people. And we know we won't be down for long!!!
For any who can, we humbly seek your support in getting back on our feet. Every contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated & will help so much in our rebuilding process. And if you could consider sharing this campaign with your community — we’d be sincerely grateful! ☕️
Funds raised will be used for:
1. Replacing stolen money & employee wages
2. Repairing and reinforcing the storefront.
4. Enhancing security measures to protect the cafe & prevent future incidents.
5. Covering any unexpected costs associated with this unfortunate event.
6. Reaching our long-term goal for a wrought iron fence.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
team root hill :)
