Help Ronnie Walusimbi Buy a Home for Orphans

Donation protected
Ronnie W. is a young man who works at a primary school in Mityana, Uganda. Out of the goodness of his heart, he also houses and supports (at current time) twelve children who are without family to care for them. He also uses part of his own paychecks to sponsor as many children that he can, so that they can attend the school where he works.

Ronnie is without proper licensure and documentation to be able to legally provide housing, food and necessities for these children. The Ugandan government has stringent stipulations which often make it difficult for individuals to meet the criteria to be an official orphanage. These roadblocks can seem insurmountable to those involved, and he is at risk of losing the children if he cannot become legally registered as an organization. The first step to obtaining legal registration to care for the kids, he must provide an appropriate housing environment.

Ronnie has found a house for sale and only needs half of the cost up front to purchase. The other $2,000 can be paid in loan. He has been working on putting money away in an account he opened a few months ago. It's slow, but he's managed to save what he can.

I have spent a couple years getting to know Ronnie and the children he supports. They are an absolutely incredible bunch. Ronnie encourages them to stay active, engaged in healthy hobbies (weaving, instruments, games) and educated. We have been mapping out what it would take for them to be able to become an official orphanage. Some of the requirements the government requires are owned land and constructed housing; neither of which he has. (Currently, children stay in a two room structure that does not have running water, electricity, or many other basic necessities which they would benefit from having access to).
The ultimate goal is to see him purchase this small piece of land with a reasonable housing structure already built.

We are hopeful to fund a total of 2,000 USD which would ultimately allow him to provide the down payment for this house.

Often, people are faced with the potential for scams masked with altruism. Ronnie is more than happy to connect, chat, video call, etc. so that he and/or the children can be met and any concerns can be appropriately mitigated.

Please feel free to check out Ronnie's Instagram page and get to know the wonderful children whose lives you could significantly improve, today.
