My brother Ronald is my best friend and honestly one of the funniest people I know. He’s always the one cracking jokes and making everyone around him laugh. But right now, he’s going through a really tough stretch.
In the same week, he lost his job and was in a car accident that totaled his only car. It’s been really rough on him, not just financially but mentally too. Seeing him like this has been hard, because I know how strong he really is.
He’s dealt with a herniated disc since high school—pain so severe it’s even taken him to the ER—but he’s never let it stop him. He’s run multiple ultra marathons, crushed physical challenges most people wouldn’t even try, and he’s signed up for 50- and 100-mile races later this year. He’s the kind of person who pushes through pain and never complains, so the fact that he’s struggling this much right now says a lot about how heavy things have been.
On top of all that, he’s the type of person who always puts others before himself and goes out of his way to help—whether it’s friends, family, or even strangers. If he’s ever made you laugh, supported you, or touched your life in some way, now’s the perfect time to show him how much you appreciate him.
Any support—whether it’s a donation to help with expenses or just leaving him a kind message—would mean the world. It would remind him that he’s not alone, and that even the strongest people deserve a hand sometimes.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for showing him some love during such a hard time.
