My name is Ben, and I’m organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend, Rome Batoliño. Rome is one of the kindest, most humble, and strong-willed people I know. He has always shown up for others, offering help, encouragement, and compassion even when life hasn’t been easy for him. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.

Rome is just 25 years old, and he’s courageously battling Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease (bilateral), meaning both of his kidneys are severely affected. This condition is irreversible, and he is now at a very critical stage. Every day, he must take at least 14 different medications just to slow down the progression to Stage 5, which would eventually require dialysis or a kidney transplant.

The cost of daily medications, frequent lab tests, and doctor visits has become overwhelming for Rome and his family. Despite the physical pain and financial burden, he continues to fight each day with quiet strength and determination, doing his best to live as normal a life as possible.
