Help the Cradits Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Hello, my name is Chelsi Romero. My family and I are reaching out for help on behalf of my father, Rod Cradit, and my stepmother, Anne Cradit. They are elderly veterans who dedicated their lives to working hard and serving our country in the Air Force and Navy. After years of hard work, they finally retired to Florida, only to face a devastating loss due to Hurricane Helene.
The storm caused severe flooding in their condo in Madeira Beach, leaving them with 3 feet of contaminated water inside. They lost nearly everything: appliances, furniture, clothing, and cherished keepsakes. They are now left with an uninhabitable home, and unfortunately, their insurance does not cover flood damage. While they will have reconstruction assistance, it won’t cover the costs of living elsewhere, and all their lost belongings.
To complicate matters, they are on a fixed income and are facing the burden of paying both their mortgage and living expenses while finding temporary housing for the next year, as their home is rebuilt. Although FEMA provided a small amount ($750.00) for immediate expenses, it won’t come close to covering their needs, especially as they navigate health challenges.
Rod and Anne have always been proud and self-sufficient, but now, with heavy hearts, they are reaching out for support. We understand that times are tough for many, but any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to them.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping our family during this difficult time.
