Hello, my name is Cody Black. I am reaching out on behalf of my mother, Robin Black, who has endured unimaginable hardship this past year.

Last year, our family home suffered severe hurricane damage. While we waited for assistance from FEMA, those damages went unrepaired. Tragically, the house caught fire and burned completely to the ground. FEMA has since denied us help, leaving us with nothing.

My mother was inside during the fire and suffered third-degree burns, requiring multiple skin graft surgeries and a long stay in the hospital. By the grace of God, she survived, but her recovery has been slow and painful. Sadly, many of our family’s animals were lost in the fire, and Robin and her beloved dog now have no place to call home.

Robin has long struggled with serious mental health challenges and is currently in the process of applying for Disability. She is not able to work or support herself, and I have been doing everything I can to care for her. I own the property where the house once stood, but I do not have the resources to rebuild.

We are asking for help from our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers to:

Provide Robin with safe housing

Replace basic essentials lost in the fire

Support ongoing medical and recovery costs

Ensure she and her dog have stability as she continues healing
