Robin Lopez stands as an exemplary model of community activism, scholarly pursuits, and as an empathetic individual who cares about the welfare of all those he comes in contact with. Unfortunately, while Robin is so deeply invested in giving back to his community-- including UC Berkeley where he is a PhD candidate and his hometown of Richmond-- he continually experiences racial profiling by the city of Berkeley Police Department and the University of California Berkeley's campus police while commuting to/from his office. Due to these cumbersome circumstances, Robin is relocating to an apartment closer to campus so he doesn't have to be harassed while driving and parking. However, in this tremendously stressful housing market, Robin is burdened with the upfront costs of moving and settling in. We, his friends and colleagues, are launching this fundraiser to aid Robin in this transition of his life-- to turn a negative experience into a positive, supportive one. (Please note that this was not Robin's idea).

All donations will go towards Robin's budget for furnishing his apartment and purchasing the essential items necessary to make a space livable. This may include the following (please note this is not an exhaustive list):
