My name is Robert. I recently had an accident while driving for work. I was driving an UberEats delivery and damaged my personal vehicle. My insurance policy (through GEICO) has a $500 deductible, but because the accident happened while I was working, my insurance said that my work insurance has to cover the damage. UberEats' insurance is through Liberty Mutual, and they have a $2500 deductible, which is beyond my ability to cover. It took GEICO over a week just to send an email to Liberty Mutual informing them of their denial of coverage, and for anyone to inform me of the outrageous deductible.
I had an inspection done on my car and the cost of repairs from this incident is estimated at roughly $2400. And because of the deductible, I am responsible for covering the cost. I am currently looking for other employment while I try to get my car fixed, but I desperately need to get my car repaired so I can resume my normal work driving deliveries. In this time, I have also fallen behind on other bills because I have been unable to work.
The reason for this fundraiser is so that I can get my car fixed and try keep up on any bills that are critical. My car payment is due, my rent is due, my power is due, and several other bills. Being unable to work has put me behind on them all and I'm trying to keep from getting so far behind on everything that I can't catch up once I do get my car fixed. Fixing my car is the top priority.
