Help Ritchie Rich Stay Connected to Daylesford ❤️
Donation protected
If you’ve spent any time in the Daylesford-Hepburn region, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Richard Herr — affectionately known as Ritchie Rich, Naughty Noddy, or even Naughty Santa. For over a decade, Ritchie has been a beloved part of our community, always showing up with his big heart, cheeky smile, and endless generosity.
From fundraising for kids in Cambodia to delivering swags to the homeless, visiting aged care residents with his dogs, or spreading Christmas cheer dressed as Santa, Ritchie has spent his life helping others. Many of us have shopped at Ruby Slippers or the House of Curiosity, or browsed the Daylesford Flea Market he once ran from the Masonic Hall.
But despite all that he’s given, Ritchie has recently faced some tough times. Rising rents meant he had to leave his little house in Daylesford and move to subsidised housing in Melbourne. It broke his heart to leave the place and people he loves. Still, he’s been making the trip back as often as he can — staying with friends, volunteering, and keeping his connection to the town strong.
Now, Ritchie faces another challenge. His beloved "GoGo Mobile" — a colourful van filled with quirky treasures and his home on wheels — has given up for good. After years of costly repairs, the vehicle is beyond saving. And without it, Ritchie’s ability to stay connected to Daylesford is in jeopardy.
We want to change that.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help Ritchie buy a reliable, economical car that will get him back to Daylesford regularly — so he can keep being the Ritchie we all know and love.
Every little bit helps. Whether it’s a gold coin, a larger donation, or even a lead on a car that might be suitable, your support means the world. Together, we can help Ritchie stay a part of this community he’s done so much for.
Thank you for anything you can give. Let’s get our Naughty Santa back on the road!
