Help Rick Walker Save His Family Home

Hi, my name is Rick. I am going through a difficult divorce that has dragged on for two whole years. Last year (2024), our home was going to go into foreclosure. We were seven months behind. I pleaded with the mortgage company to find a way to save the house. They used the COVID-19 housing relief program to put the seven months on the back end of the loan, and the house was saved. During this time, I was paying child support so my spouse would be able to keep up with the mortgage. 50% of my paycheck was going towards child support, and the other 25% was going towards lawyer fees. The court added a guardian ad litem, which my spouse and I have to split the cost of. I carry the child support and the cost of two attorneys. She fell 4 months behind again in 2025. When I left the house, her mortgage was $1370 per month. Today, I had to make arrangements with the mortgage company to pay $2314 over the next three months. The court did say that I could directly pay my child support towards the mortgage. However, that only pays half. Since she’s missed 11 payments in two years, it has blown a huge hole in the escrow. I’m looking to make that money up so the minimum payment on the house goes back to normal. I live in a very humble, smaller home with a manageable mortgage. I would get a second job; however, I am the caretaker of my father, who is an 81-year-old stroke victim and has been diagnosed with leukemia. I currently live with him while the divorce is ongoing. I work as much overtime as I can and still find time to take care of him. I never missed a mortgage payment in 22 years of marriage. We did have a difficult time with our youngest son. Arick was in the hospital for over a year, and we had to go for medical bankruptcy. Many loving friends came to our rescue to help us save the home. Arick went through multiple surgeries and didn’t come home until his first birthday. I wouldn’t ask for help, but I feel overwhelmed. Please find the kindness in your heart to donate if you can. Don’t do it for me, but for my children. God Bless. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Rick Walker. Richard H. Walker III
